Hebrews 12:13 “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

A disability is certainly a frustrating thing. Can you imagine a life without your legs and feet? Not being able to walk is a sure disappointment. It is usually hard for a lame to believe that a miracle would suddenly occur and he/she would be able to walk. This passage uses this illustration to encourage believers that despite being lame, they would be able to walk again by believing in Jesus Christ. This type of walk is not physical but spiritual. What I mean about this is that sin in our lives causes paralysis in our Christian walk. It disables us from progressing and we end up being stuck at where we’re currently at. Don’t you find it frustrating when you stumble in your Christian walk? Discouragements start to come in and we start feeling a sense of regret and condemnation. God does not want us to stay down and sulk at our mistakes and short comings. Instead, He wants us to “make level paths” for our feet. It is not a Christian way to stop walking whenever we are paralyzed by sin. He urges us to get back up on track and keep walking! In our lamest points in life, always know that Jesus has always been and forever will be along our side. By faith, expect a healing from the true healer and forgiveness from the true bearer of forgiveness. Much like the words I heard from a preacher in chapel, “A failure does not make (your name) a failure.” Through Christ Jesus, prepare to walk again!

Hebrews 10:26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sin is left.

We must have an awareness of every decision we make. When you have the Spirit of God in you, it is inevitable that He would warn you beforehand of potential sin. After that, it is your responsibility as a believer to choose the right path. This verse uses the word “deliberately” which basically means done on purpose. When we purposely live a life engaged in a type of sin, there is no means for forgiveness. God cannot forgive someone who takes the death of His very own Son lightly. Jesus said these words before he died: “Forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.” Jesus came to the Father to ask forgiveness for those who are ignorant of their sin. If you’re not ignorant, but instead very well aware of your sin, the Scripture says that it has not been atoned for. It is not too late to truly repent and turn away from this kind of lifestyle. We must be very careful of our actions. Remember that it all starts with our decisions.

Hebrews 11:26-27 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasure of Egypt, because he was looking ahead for his reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger, he persevered because he saw Him who is invisible.

Moses, who had everything in Egypt, acknowledged that there is nothing far better than following God. This passage shows a contrast on how a “disgrace for the sake of Christ” is greater than any worldly treasure. If anything that this world offers is nothing compared to this type of disgrace, then imagine God’s promise of a Glory with Christ? This is a matter of value. Whatever you find is of greater value would be your goal in life. Often people pursue their goals to the point of they would do anything to reach it. If a person is given a choice between good or best, most likely he/she would pick what is best. Here we could see that Moses had his eyes set on the best thing that he could ever expect in his lifetime, which is his reward from God. He was willing to go through anything without fear and doubt because he knew he did not have to worry about how to get there. He simply acknowledged that God would take him there and that he never lost sight of its value. We may not be able to see God every step of the way, He is always close to those who have put their faith in Him. Faith is to be able to look to an invisible God and trust that He will pull through for us. Just like Moses, we must make that our drive for success. By following God, even though we may be disgraced along the way, we know that His reward is far better than anything else in this world. As soon as we forget the value of what we are in pursuit of, that is when we will stumble and let go of God’s best rewards for those who perseveres.

2 Timothy 2:19;21 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

It is true that most Christians do still live their lives in constant struggle with sin. I can admit that I too struggle with turning away from wickedness. There are moments when I feel strong and can forsake my own ungodly desires; and also times when i cannot. Sin becomes a cycle and it does become frustratingly tiring. We cannot avoid the fact that humanity is fallen and that we are only saved through the grace of God. It is very sad to know whenever Christians still dwell within that fallen state and refuse to believe in deliverance. I like to believe that sin is a matter of choice between what God wants and what we want. Do not get me wrong; sin is absolutely difficult to overcome since it is within our nature to sin. Whenever someone has the urge to sin, there is a struggle between good and evil. If you are a true Christian, you would hear the Holy Spirit trying to talk you out of sinning. That is called conviction. Yet, most still choose to disobey and live in the same, old cycle - bondage by choice.

This verse is telling us that there is no need to prove to God how much of a Christian we are by showing Him the amount of prayer walks we do, services we attend to, and ministries we are part of. No matter what we do, we cannot achieve holiness on our own. No amount of acts of righteousness can cleanse us if we still constantly live in a life of perversion, anger, and lack of self-control. It is a matter of choice whether we find God’s law better than ourselves. Unless we completely rid ourselves of this lifestyle, only then will we become useful to our Master, the Lord Jesus Christ. Only God can make us holy. No human effort can ever create that.

This process takes constant humility and to be able to say God “Let Your will be done”. This phrase is often taken for granted by so many people. They believe that by simply saying those words, God’s will would take place. we must be in constant pursuit of God’s will by knowing what it is. How? Simply by obeying and fleeing from wickedness. Once God views you as someone who He considers “His”, that is when He will start using you as an instrument. An instrument would not know his/her use unless they are actually used for their intended purpose. Isn’t that what “Let Your will be done” means? We are useless to God if we remain in our evil lifestyles. If we do not turn away from wickedness, how can God’s will ever take place?

One part of verse 19 says, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness”. As you know, Christ is a name of God. Once we bear the title “Christian”, we begin to confess God’s name. Are you still living a life of shame, guilt, or ungodliness. All wickedness lead to destruction. Make it your choice this very moment to turn away from anything that hinders God’s will for your life. Listen to God’s voice. He will not give us this verse if He can’t help us through it. Only then can we truly become an instrument for our Master. What kind of servant would not want the recognition of his/her master. I am sure, we all want to become useful to God. Let us first start by living a life submitted, devoted, and completely directed by Him.

Jeremiah 32:27 “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”

Sometimes I ask myself the question “Do I really have faith?” It bothers me whenever I pray and a thought comes to my mind that maybe there is a possible chance that whatever I prayed for would not be answered. Then this thought is played over and over in my mind. Sooner or later, I end up struggling with doubt. I am positively sure that I am not alone in this dilemma. Satan’s first deception to man is to lose trust in God and to listen to his words instead. That very mistake gave birth to doubt in God’s power, his existence, his authority, and his words. This struggle would never end unless Jesus comes back to redeem the world. This verse is God’s declaration of himself. He is revealing who he truly is in our lives, “the God of ALL mankind”. He is the ruler of all, to whom anything is possible. Most of all, God is the creator of all. Just look around and see whether or not creation gives away the fact that there truly is a creator of all, a self-existent designer. Everything couldn’t have possibly just appeared out of no where. God is too amazing to be comprehended. His question remains - Is anything too hard for me? Fear and doubt is useless if you have someone as powerful as God to run and look up too. The Almighty God is willing to solve our problems for us. All we have to do is to have faith because sometimes the main cause of our doubt is when we fail to realize who he truly is. So is there anything too hard for God? Remember that there is nothing too difficult for him.

my life's been paid for
new life he gave for
unrighteousness had a price
aint chances by the dice
is meant for His creation
never meant for condemnation
brought back by redemption
accepted by His salvation
i sinned and now forgiven
transgressions been forgotten
he chose and bought me
from slavery he set me free
living this new life for His fullest
only cause by grace i am blessed
all given for life's extent
in Him this rhyme will end
